Both. The arrangements are beginner level with note names on the page, so a child can play them, and the selection is wide enough that adults enjoy it too.
How hard are the carols?
Beginner. Simplified chords and rhythms, one or two pages each, ordered from easiest to hardest. If you can play the first few songs of Little Pianist or Primo Piano, you can play these.
