Little Pianist. Piano Songbook for Kids: Beginner Piano Sheet Music for Children with 55 Songs (+ Free Audio)

Little Pianist is a beginner piano songbook for children ages 5 to 10: 55 songs in large print, arranged for both hands, with a free audio recording of every piece.

Why both hands matter

Most beginner songbooks print the right hand only, so children learn to poke out melodies with one finger. Every song here is written for treble and bass clef, so your child plays with all fingers and both hands from the first page.

What is inside

  • 55 beginner songs, each one or two pages, simplified so nothing needs a teacher to decode.
  • Easiest to hardest. Simple tunes first, then a gentle climb, so motivation never dips.
  • Variety. Nursery rhymes, children's songs, simplified classical pieces, English evergreens and folk songs from around the world.
  • Letters and numbers. The first songs show note names above the notes; later songs leave them out so real reading starts. Finger numbers appear wherever hands need help.
  • Large print that a child can read from the piano bench without squinting.
  • Free audio. An MP3 of every song, so your child hears how it should sound before playing it. Download link inside the book.

Who it is for

Children starting piano at home or with a teacher, and adult beginners who want a friendly first songbook. No previous music reading needed.

Denise H.on Little Pianist

Perfect for piano lessons! I’m teaching my granddaughter and this is the best book I’ve ordered. It has so many songs, including Christmas, and classics, along with the familiar teaching tunes. I love that it is with left and right hand. Easy enough but some challenges as well—a book a child can “grow into”. You will love it.

Carmelleon Little Pianist

Lovely book, great songs and arrangements I love this book! As a longtime piano teacher I am always on the lookout for decent books that will keep the student interested. I like that it starts out with the names of the notes in the first part of the book, then phases them out after having introduced all the notes the pieces will be containing.

Christina Wilsonon Little Pianist

It stays easy throughout! As a grade school teacher, what I like about this book is its slow pace. It starts easy, and doesn't suddenly jump to difficult. There's plenty to practice at the beginner learning level. I also like the large, simple black and white font. There are no pictures to distract and compete for attention. Just the notes.

Mana D.on Primo Piano

A perfect one for adult beginners The Downloadable Audio and the finger placements (numbers) in problem areas are so helpful for the beginners.

Beatriceon Primo Piano

Great for beginners This book is amazing for beginners. Our daughter has been teaching herself to play and this book had worked very well for her.

Kristin V.on Classical Piano Masterpieces

Large selection of early intermediate classical pieces This collection of classical piano sheet music is aimed at early intermediate level and has a nice variety of composers and pieces. As expected, some of the music is simplified and/or abridged arrangements of popular classical pieces. Quite a few seem to be suitable for advanced beginner level as well.

Lynn Fon Classical Piano Masterpieces

Wonderful Songbook! I truly enjoyed this book, as a pianist and someone that loves classical music this was very enjoyable! An intermediate pianist will find works that are easy to play, as well as some that will challenge.

Aleon Play by Color

Fun, Easy Way to Start Playing Piano - Great for Kids and Adults! This beginner piano book is fantastic! As an aunt learning alongside my young nieces and nephews (ages 4 & 5), I'm amazed at how quickly we've progressed.

Marie Desozaon Christmas Carols for Piano

Suitable for 2 levels of beginner The 2 levels of beginner are those who aren't yet fluent in reading musical notation, perhaps struggling somewhat to recognise which is D, F, B flat etc. These beginners need only recognise which octave the notes are in, ie D above middle C, or D above C an octave higher.
