What's inside

The 40 most famous classical pieces. The music everyone knows from concerts, films, weddings and adverts.

Complete pieces, not snippets. Almost every piece runs from its first bar to its last. Where a work is too big to arrange whole, the page says so.

One steady intermediate level. No stretch beyond an octave, no chord of more than four notes, and a left hand that keeps to one job at a time.

Both hands, both clefs. A real piano part on two staves, with the composer’s own dynamics and phrasing.

Free audio. Recordings of all 40 pieces, so you can hear each one before you play it.

Questions people ask

How advanced is this book?

Intermediate. Every arrangement keeps to the same rules: no stretch beyond an octave, no chord of more than four notes, and a left hand that keeps to one job at a time. You should be comfortable reading both clefs and playing hands together. If you are just starting, Primo Piano is the better first book.

Are these the complete pieces?

Almost all of them run from the first bar to the last. Where a work is too big to arrange whole (the fugue after Bach’s Toccata, the orchestral middle of the New World Largo), the page says so. Dynamics, phrasing and tempo words are the composer’s own.

Does it repeat pieces from Classical Piano Masterpieces?

No. This is Book 2 of the series that began with Classical Piano Masterpieces, and none of that book’s 65 pieces is repeated here.

How do I get the free audio?
